As the spring and summer months sizzle in the city, many wonderful opportunities surround Boston Babies. There are endless diverse restaurants, which encourage babies to test out new tastebuds, as well as a multitude of museums to take advantage of on those rainy New England days. Another favorite among families is the endless green space, many of which also offer playgrounds.
“Playing” outdoors is an activity that has become extinct over the generations, but is an essential part of children’s ability to learn, grow, develop and explore. This free play outdoors enables Boston Babies to take advantage of the fresh air and nature. Playing in the green space and parks also encourages physical activity and imagination, two things that often fall to the waste side in our over stimulated, “plugged in” society.
The Rose F. Kennedy Greenway has a series of events throughout the spring and summer focused on providing outdoor activities for Boston residents. While no one can deny that city living can get costly, there are so many FREE opportunities that exist which are entertaining, enjoyable and often educational. Living in the city is a luxury due to the diversity, opportunities, dining, culture and possibilities that come with an urban environment. These FREE events are another amazing aspect to make note of throughout the year, but especially as the weather gets warmer and the city is in full swing.
