As the weather gets warmer in the city, there is so much to do to keep busy in Boston. From The Rose Kennedy Greenway–and its many fountains, food trucks and free classes–to the Harbor Islands, outdoor enthusiasts have many memorable moments to look forward to this season.
Of course you can’t forget The Esplanade, with its family friendly parks and programs, and its quickly approaching annual Earth Fest taking place on Saturday, May 18th at the Hatch Shell. While Boston Babies will continue to keep you posted on all the wonderful opportunities to enjoy throughout the spring and summer months, start first by planning some fun filled activities for the whole family this weekend.
Boston Babies would like to tell you about a few incredible events to participate in this Saturday, May 4th.
Whether you want to start your morning with a workout, donate to One Fund, join families for a clean-up at The Christopher Columbus Park Playground, or indulge in your favorite food truck treats, Boston is booming with programs this weekend.

Bring balance back to Boston by joining The Sports Club/La-Boston, as they move and meditate through their Saturday morning. Members and Non-Members are invited to participate in this program. A suggested donation of $25/class will go directly to One Fund.

8:45-9:45 am Rev
Start the day by shipping up to Boston, with a high energy Rev Class. Spin your way through Boston’s best music mix, filled with only Boston based musicians or inspired songs. DJ, Nora Jordan, of DJour Entertainment, will get you going, as you enjoy a class led by Group Exercise Instructor, Nicole Witkov, as well as featured instructors, Jackson Williams, Patrick Rooney and Ian Kilpatrick. Everyone will be encouraged to sport their best Boston gear, sing along and request favorite hits. All participants will head home with their own Boston Strong music mix, a cd including songs played throughout the class. Whether you are looking for a little love in an elevator, care to take a taste of that dirty water or are just hoping to indulge in some good vibrations…This Rev Class is sure to have the right stuff!
10:00-11:30 am Zumba Dance Party
Shake what you got with The SCLA’s own Alexa Malzone, as she brings sexy back with her team taught class, setting the tone for this weekend’s workout. Mambo and move through this dance class and join a packed room full of people looking to let loose, as DJ, Charles Mercer, of Entertainment Specialists, gets the party started!
12:00-2:00 pm Yoga
After you spent the morning moving and sweating, it’s time to surrender and meditate, as you find peace in your mind, body and home town of Boston. Emerson student and musician, Sydney Manning, will perform live, as Yoga teachers take you through a mindful class filled with stretches, poses and postures meant to move you towards a place of balance and acceptance. Find silence and breath through an extended Savasana, letting you reflect and leaving you renewed.
Food Truck Throwdown

The Greenway, Boston – Between State & India Streets
Boston vs. NYC Food Trucks. REMATCH
Trucks from each city will compete in various contests all day long for a chance to beat out all competitors and win Best Food Truck. Schedule, live music and celebrity judges to be announced.
Pizza Party & Playground Clean-Up
Saturday, May 4th
Join friends and families as they clean up the Christopher Columbus Park Playground.
There will be free food and entertainment for the whole family, including:
- Free Pizza donated by Benevento’s (111 Salem Street)
- Face Painting by Kindercare
- Art Project by NEMPAC
- Big Joe the Storyteller
- Climb on a North End Firetruck
